Well there will be no professional hockey this season and as to be expected there is no love lost here. It wouldn’t make any difference to me either way except that I won’t have to tolerate noisy neighbors. And really as far as I’m concerned – if you want to play hockey, nobody’s stopping you. You just won’t get paid millions of dollars to do it. But maybe you’ll have some fun. I’d be interested to hear if anyone is supporting the Olympics in Vancouver, because it sounds like money ill spent to me.

Well, if your city does not have to spend a few billion in facilities, new freeways, and security, the Olympics do bring in a lot of outside money.
It also brings an opportunity for terrorists to lobb some bombs at you. Oh wait, your guys didn’t piss anyone off, nevermind. Yea, go for it.-Jeff C
The whole idea behind the Olympics, business-wise, is that you have to spend money to make money. The government spends money so that, hopefully, local businesses make money and therefore pay more taxes so the government rcoups their expenditures.
Whether that’ll happen or not, I don’t know. I don’t really care about the Olympics other than the hockey myself, but I’m sure I won’t be able to get tickets to any of the games so it might as well be happening somewhere else.
