I was dismayed when I heard they were remaking The Day the Earth Stood Still and moreso when I learned Keanu Reeves had the lead role of Klaatu. He’s a fine physical actor but his vocal work is poor.
It looks like they’re keeping him to short sentences here, so that’s good. It might end up being a good film, and may encourage more people to see the original which is fantastic even after all these years.
